42. Standing Still – 100 days of drawing

klaatu barada nikto

klaatu barada nikto

It annoys me when people don’t know where that phrase comes from.

I haven’t seen the remake but I’m thinking I might take it with me and try to watch it on the plane, I’m assuming it’s not as good as the original which if you haven’t seen please go and see it.

(I’m talking about The Day the Earth Stood Still BTW)

41. Teamwork – 100 days of drawing

Guess which one was the most fun... hint: it was Hulk.

Guess which one was the most fun… hint: it was Hulk.

I think if you were to tell me ten years ago that I’d be watching an excellent Avengers film based on ground work in several films I would think you a liar instead of the remarkable time traveller you are.

I’m still impressed that Marvel managed to get this done, I eagerly await whatever disaster DC put together*.

40. Rated – 100 days of drawing

Clearly the xenomorph is being biased.

Oh Alien will you never drop the versus between you and Predator?

39. Dreams – 100 days of drawing

For anyone concerned, the pug is in no danger from Freddy.

For anyone concerned, the pug is in no danger from Freddy.

Dreams can be weird, Freddy Krueger hanging out with a pug dog (possibly the one from MIB) is weird.

Enjoy.

38. Abandoned – 100 days of drawing

I agonised over what section of the park to draw so I just went with one of the cars

I’m glad I told myself I’m not allowed to recycle any existing drawings as I did one called Forgotten a while back which would have fit the bill.

I was excited to read the other week that it would appear that they are going back to Isla Nublar in Jurassic Park 4 as I’d love to see what remains of the park.

35. Hold my hand – 100 days of drawing

I had to disarm him.

I had to disarm him.

I was tempted to draw the scene from Superman where he takes Lois for a fly but then I’d have to remember that awful poem she has to recite and… urg.

Instead it’s classic Total Recall.

Just a side note that by the time you read this Tracey and I are off on our adventure to Japan, whilst I won’t be posting here about the trip I will be unbearable over on Twitter and Facebook so feel free to follow over there or block and filter ;)

34. Stars – 100 days of drawing

My god, it's full of stars.

My god, it’s full of stars.

An extraordinary film to watch in the cinema, something I’ve had the pleasure of three times now and at one of which I got to meet both Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood.

33. Expectations – 100 days of drawing

I think I was being generous to Iron Man 2 all things being equal

Yeah that’s right, I do my graphs in watercolour now.

I’m bad ass.

My scanner hates subtle colours

I realised as I sat down to draw this that I’ve not drawn anything Studio Ghibli related before so that was a treat.

We’re looking forward to seeing the Studio Ghibli Museum in about a week and a half, I suspect the shop might be filling some of our baggage!

I hate my scanner more and more as I continue doing watercolour work, I suspect after we get back I might do a commission drive to fund a replacement!

28. Sorrow – 100 days of drawing

Soggy Bottom Boys

Soggy Bottom Boys

No one is allowed to say the words “I am a man of constant sorrow” in our household as it sends everyone into ear worm frenzy as the song burrows deep into our brains.

Fortunately the phrase has only ever really needed to be used three or four times in casual conversation.
