I struggled over the use of the word spilt over spilled. Technically it's not wrong but modern English has in fact embraced spilled. I'm not sure why I refused to update the language but I suspect it has a lot to do with already locking this one in.
I actually think that the Snowtrooper is my favourite of the Stormtroopers and I have no idea why, possibly because it was the first time I'd seen a variation (apart from the pilots in Episode 4) and I thought it cool that they had different types? I've no idea but I do really like them.
What's your favourite Trooper costume?
I don't really understand why the AT AT Walkers suddenly become vulnerable to the weak firepower of the snowspeeder (in case you're wondering, the snowspeeder is actually a modified Incom T-47 airspeeder but you probably already knew that) when brought to their knees. Upright their blasters do them no harm but when they hit the deck they explode after a few shots. Maybe they needed little Corgi like AT ATs with little tiny legs?
As cool as the AT-AT walkers are you would imagine that tactically they made pretty big targets out on the ice plains. I mean I get that the Rebels had seemingly ineffectual weaponry but surely tanks painted white would have made the Imperial's lives easier? Something lower to the ground and faster packing a decent ordinance?
No wonder they left the port exposed on the Deathstar.
I have been steadily working my way through uploading all of the original Thoughts of a Stormtrooper posts over on Tumblr, it's surprisingly painful as I have to rebrand each of the strips with the new URL and I have to go into an archived copy of Quit Your Day Job, search for the right entry and then copy the caption from html and then repeat the same tags every time.
Of course going back through all those old posts is not without some pleasure, the stirring of nostalgia, forgotten jokes and observations about Star Wars and the occasional laugh (this happens more when I forget the joke).
When the sixty something posts are up the plan is to start publishing the More Thoughts of a Stormtrooper series straight after on the same Tumblr page but then I remembered that I actually already published the first two here. Not only that I have quite a number of them already done and waiting to go.
So rather than wait I'm going to start publishing them here again on a weekly basis and then when caught up I'll publish them across the platforms at the same time. I've had too much fun to leave them getting dusty on a shelf!!!
Just to refresh your memory here are the first two:
Part three next Friday!
Great response last week to the return of Thoughts of a Storm Trooper!
After a couple of decent conversations and some thoughts that I've had floating around I've decided to start publishing the series on its own Tumblr page: http://stormtrooperthoughts.tumblr.com/
I'll be posting the original run with the alt captions daily and then when caught up with the current season they'll be on there weekly.
And of course let me know if you're enjoying these!!!
Wow! We're back for a new season of Thoughts of a Storm Trooper (see the first season here) now much more appropriately located here on Too Short to be a Storm Trooper.
The storm troopers actually don't seem to appear as much in Empire Strikes Back as they did in A New Hope but we've still got plenty of thoughts to go through!
Presented here is the full collection of Thoughts of a Storm Trooper that originally appeared on my old blog Quit Your Day Job.
I've been meaning to bring them over for some time and now is the perfect time because starting tomorrow and then every Wednesday following I'll be posting More Thoughts of a Storm Trooper! Taking up where the last series left off and covering Empire Strikes Back.
(apologies if there are any missing or out of order and eventually I will be bringing over the alt text fingers crossed).
If you followed me over from my previous blog then you would be aware of a series I did called Thoughts of a Storm Trooper. When I recently wrapped up that series and the site I suggested that I'd put together an eBook so one could easily read all the entries.
Well I'm happy to let you all know that this is indeed in progress. I'm shocked at how time consuming it is actually, I don't have all the original files as they were lost in a computer meltdown but it is slowly getting there and it's beginning to take shape.
I just thought I'd update you all and it gave me an excuse to share that image
