Iron Man has been one of my favourite characters for over 20 years now, it’s great that the world has now discovered him through the movies but I’m still partial to the original comics. Sadly everything from Extremis onwards doesn’t really do anything for me, I think they went the wrong way with him and the armour.
Favourite armour is almost the Mark II golden armour but the classic red and gold is pretty special too.
I think I’d still like to read a couple new stories from this era of Iron Man, I just don’t like the current one.
What’s your favourite armour?
I blame The Avengers for the weakest elements of Thor and Captain America.
I blame The Avengers for the disaster that was Iron Man 2.
I forgive The Avengers completely for all of its sins for we have seen The Avengers and it was good.
I wasn’t convinced that it would be a slam dunk going in, there’s a lot of characters to take care of and the way that SHIELD was shoe horned into the other films wasn’t a great confidence builder. Then a little while back Joss Whedon came out and said that the film would be from Captain America’s point of view. In my opinion I think Captain America was the weakest character coming in and so I wasn’t hopeful on that account. This point of view did seem to be left on the cutting room floor though. Read more
